Gear selection window lamp holder

Can anybody tell me where to put the gear selection window lamp holder, as I am not able to see nor feel where to put it.

Assuming you mean a 56, there is a small receptacle or hole in the main dash assy just below the cluster. Way in and just above but also sort of behind the steering column brace.

I made a metal tube to wrap around the socket and allow me leverage to push the bulb into the hole. You can feel it, but you can't see it even when upside down with your head up in the dash. Some previous miscreant tried to hammer it in and bent the metal around the opening.
