Maybe, but if for GI's I wonder if it would say "Birthday Greetings" or just something like "Complements Of".

If it had the brand of a lesser car, one could say it was an emergency kit for the times the car left you stranded in the middle of nowhere. We all know Packards would never be that undignified so lets chalk it up as a gift from the Packard dealer as a reminder of that fact. Something to take with you just in case you had to travel in some other car.

Of course there is another option and reason one might want to have a small overnight or freshen up kit handy -- though my mother kept telling me back then that nice boys didn't do that stuff -- so maybe not.

Note the tag sewn to the carry case. It says "JeePak". That would put it no earlier than very late 1930's. Most likely early 1940's until the beginning of Korean war. Say 1939 thru 1949.

The anitseptic pencil would not likely be WWII GI issue. I just can not recall at the momment the name of the powder used for battle wounds but such powder was in a tear-open bag.

Hopefully one our members can recall details of what they were issued during the war. The plastic handled shaver would not be GI either.

However, The "Jeepak" on the tag pretty much throws it either very late war years or there after.

Check the tooth brush to see if it is hog hair or nylon bristles. If nylon then very late post war era, probably 1949 or much later even into the 1960's.

All of the bristles on the tooth brush appear to be very homogeneously white. So not hog hair.
