brake fluid safety reservoir

Perhaps jfrom@kanter can answer this.
I need a new crush washer for my brake fluid safety reservoir kit. There is none listed on page 289 of the parts book.
I have the 1 1/4 master cyl filler plug.
I have a 1 3/16 washer that is too small.
I have a 1 1/4 washer that seems too large?
The original washer had (I think) an asbestos core.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Randy:

I got my copper washer for the BTV reservoir cover from Restoration Specialties. A slightly snug fit, I actually had to thread it onto the bung.

Hi Randy,

I believe that we may have a couple of those kits on our 3rd floor. I asked Fred and he will take a walk up and try to locate one and get you an answer.

Thanks
James

I considered a "O" ring but in the end didn't like the risk (though probably very small) of a small chip or piece of it getting into the brake fluid and perhaps ending up under the compensator valve. In the end I decided copper or brass was a better choice and actually tried to make one from sheet copper before I came across the ones from Restoration Specialties.
