i'm just glad i got it to work correctly....so maybe it was a time window thing. idk.

its nice and smooth now.

well its all finished. it all went together very well...but i did get a booboo on the decal...i'm sorry but those decals are crap. i would rather they were made from a sticker, i don't care if thats not original or not...the decals suck.

Kevin...my wife will be packing it up and shipping it back out tomorrow if time allows.

thanks for your patience Kevin. Also sorry about the little missing piece on the decal...but did i mention they are crap and i hate them. i'm suprised it turned out that well honestly. they suck.

comparing my powder coated unit to Kevin's unit....not too bad i'd say. but i did just notice....i think the lids are different...no wonder i had so much trouble getting that decal on...Kevin's lid has a bend right where the decal goes and mine doesn't. my decal laid flat. suprised i got that decal on there at all then.

He also had the updated filler cap too. must be the 55 to 56 difference i suppose.

and for all that have wondered...i did this for free labor. Packard man to Packard man.

I am very glad it got there safe!!! I'm nervous... My first rebuild put to the test, good luck little pump!! Again I'm sorry about the decal issue. . Please let me know the minute u try it!

I will left you know as soon as the unit is installed. Reference the decal, it's perfect for my car. I love little bits of patina and that minor imperfection really doesn't rise to being patina-ish! No sweat Hank. The unit looks fabulous.

Nice work Hank! You've inspired me to get the one from my '55 Clipper de-greased and rebuilt.

It's in and working fabulously!

I just got finished road testing and rechecking everything. As dry as a whistle. The second picture was of the yucky engine block due to the leaky unit your rebuild replaced.
