Jay - In my offline discussions with Packard friends, I have been confronted with yet another rumor of poor quality new seals. Would you please advise me offline from who you are purchasing the seals? thank you. flackmaster@sbcglobal.net

General applications:
Many REPLACEMENT seals are now made with the sealing lip either set shallow or deeper depending on application. Especialy on crankshaft rear seals. I replaced one as such 6 years ago and seen several of the same nature since. This is done to avoid the lip riding in the worn groove. It pays to do your own homework on seals and at the auto parts stores and inspect the depth of the lip.
