Well after an HCCA tour todayI went to one of the members shop. We actually use a spring from a latch from an Oakland he had lying around. The spring goes in the direction of picture 1. We put the latch in a vice and then using a pair of vice grips we were able to maneuver the spring into position.

As part of the tour we got to visit a natural gas pumping station. Tow ofthe biggest natural gas V12 engines I have ever seen. These were from the 30s and were adapted from the original use as ship engines.

Glad you got your latch back together. Simple once it's done, right?

I'm curious about the manufacturer of the large V12 marine engines - did you notice the manufacturer? Winton, Sulzer, MAN, Isotta, Burmeister & Wain are a few that come to mind but there were so many. Photo of the engines?

I don't know who was the manufacturer. Here's some pictures.

It's been a tough spring. Thermostat control, water pump pully and door latch spring broke. Car worked today. Went to a local car show today.
