I think I'll post the pictures over on the AACA Forum and see if anyone there knows anything about it. It could very well be that a different car company used the Packard radio and this dial.

Gene, without reading everything over in detail, two thoughts occur to me. (1) the tuning head is from a different radio that the receiver, and (2) the set is from a model with rear compartment radio where the tuning head was placed in the rear arm rest, I think this possibility was already mentioned.

Here are some photos of the tuning head from my 39 120. I don't have the receiver though. Love to have one if someone has one laying around they don't need.
