looks like the motor dropped in in late Feb. wow has it been that long!
https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=653&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&type=&mode=0&start=1050 the body went on shortly after April to make room for my wife's car in the garage as the summer heat was frying the interior. Salado is a yearly Texas Packard meet, in Salado Texas at the Stage Coach Inn. its every April. https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=10297&forum=15&post_id=108662#forumpost108662 the body will come back off sometime, which will make replacing the trans mount easier. darn thing seperated from the rubber. :0( better now then later though.

Hank, I took a look and sorry to say I only have one left and since the one in my 56 Carib is apparently original to the car, I think it best to keep it for my own possible future use. Sorry about that, you're a couple of months too late; it would have been my pleasure to give it to you.
Keep up the great work on your car!

fuel pump finished. went to lowes and got all new 10-32 machine screws for it.
rubber seems to stick out a bit, but i like it and don't really feel like trimming it. gotta find a new drain plug bolt, etc. enjoy Hank Attach file: (72.77 KB) (107.32 KB) (126.29 KB) (65.86 KB) (59.02 KB) (53.74 KB) (137.12 KB) (120.79 KB) (60.74 KB) (60.45 KB) (81.30 KB) (61.78 KB) (82.35 KB) (87.17 KB) (96.32 KB) (90.30 KB) (93.99 KB) (99.72 KB)

fuel pump mounted.
dizzy set in right place so i can start doing the plug wires. i hooked up my pressure gauge till it moved up. when it moved i then set the HB to 6 degrees. opened the cap and where the rotor is is number 1. still holding compression, so i guess my valve seat and rings are good. Hank

rerubberized the wire holders with plasti-dip. wasn't perfect, but doubt the original was either. took about 4 coats to get it right.
got the coil mounted, the condenser, and finished off the driver's side wires. i bent the straight plug ends to be 45 degree and when they went into the straight boots it made them 45 as well. this is probably how they did it from the factory and i would suspect the steele rubber ones would do the same, i'm just not at the point of spending 45 dollars on plug boots. other side done. and had to redo the fuel line so it was long enough to reach the fuel pump. my first try was too short.
