I seem to recall there were questions on replacing the rubber bushings with poly on TL cars for added longevity. I know O_D was able to get them for the rear sway bars and I believe there were some made or found for the rear torque arms. Don't remember if there was ever an answer on the suitability for the fronts or if any were ever found and tried.
Here is a FoMoCo set that a poster forwarded with question on whether they would work. Am thinking the short ones would fit but probably not the longs. Anyone care to chime in on suitability or if anything would be gained or lost if used. www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-4-3111G

HH, no personal experience here but if you changed the control arm inner bushings to a bushing with a rubber or polymer of different elastic properties, wouldn't you think you would change the ride properties? How much or how little, for better or for worse, I have no idea but assuming the polyurethane to be more resistant to torsional rotation, I'd think it would dampen the control arm movement and thus give a harsher ride. Perhaps an improvement, perhaps just the opposite, perhaps not perceptible?

I bought the poly kit,
don't care for it, it is hard, the bushing is stepped, I guess to press in, now I checked my dads 56 pat, which is org,,that car has the washers too, so I am going to keep using mine. others can take this info and do what they want.

Picture of upper knuckle, poly bushing, and Moog k8082 bushing I used.\\
Upper knuckle which way does that go?, this is the right side, still have that bind, when I let car down right side was higher that left, pushing down you could feel bind. I know its not the lower holding it, with strut out it went up and down no problem. The poly bushing is hard don't like it, and the steps are in question. also no points on inner sleeve. On the (bracket), that's what Packard calls it, to me its a shaft, group no, 15.5036, part no, 443452, I think.. Are the ends supposed to be 3/4, where the bushings slip over, Mine mic. at under 3/4, I was going to turn them down and press a sleeve over them.. rik, Attach file: (9.87 KB) (9.19 KB) (10.11 KB)

RE Post #10 of this thread:
I tried Ross' tip as indicated in post #10. 150+ miles of driving with some hi-speed I'state operation and a GREAT improvement. Thanks Ross.
