There are some differences here and there due to some component locations and differences in the source of power to some circuits but the most significant change is the brake lights and turn signal.
The 22nd series had separate bulbs in the rear for turnsignals and brake lites. The 23rd shared the same bulb. The 22nd turn signal switch had 3 wires for signal only but to share the bulb, the 23rd has 6 wires and ran the brake switch output thru the turnsignal switch. The turnsignal switch was used to decide which bulb flashed and which one was steady for the brake. The actual flasher unit circuit and dash indicator light is slightly different as well.
