1955-56 V-8 headers?

Anybody else interested in a short run of 3-tube headers for 1955-56 Packard V-8s? I'll be doing one set for my Panther Project. In casual conversation with a few other Packard friends, there are maybe 4 others interested. If you are interested, pipe up and post here. The more the cheaper.

The reason you might be interested is because there's 30-45 additional horsepower when fitted with headers compared to stock exhaust manifolds.

Don't need one but sounds like an interesting project. Are you going to have the generator/alternator mount included --

Ballpark.... How much we talking. Might be interested. Sounds like it will go well with my cam and valve spring mods.

Currently, I'm gathering information and costs. I'll post a ballpark number when I get it roughed out.

Most certainly a generator, or in the case of the Panther, an alternator mount in the stock location. It's just a basic bracket welded or bolted (TBD) to the P-side exhaust flange.

I'm making good progress on mocking up the header tubing routing on the D-side (the most difficult). I'll post a pic of that mockup when I get it done in a day or two. Then I'll mockup the P-side and post a picture of that.

I'm mocking up with a spare 352 engine (long block) mounted in the Panther chassis (the body is off per previous thread). For auxiliary equipment fitment clearance checking, I have my 1956 400 parts car (most everything still there) with BTV, Monroe power steering and pushbutton shift T-U. Of course I also have my 1955 Patrician with column shift T-U, Bendix power steering and MPB dual master & booster conversion in the BTV position. A brand-X dual master and booster conversion mounted on the firewall should be no problem with the headers. Some wiring (i.e., starter solenoid) may have to be rerouted somewhat. The D-side mockup clears the stock starter and solenoid, so a mini-starter would not be required.

So far, the mockup is looking good.
