Impressive Big Kev. You are doing a great job with your Clipper. Funny, I don't seem to remember family members' high end GM's of the era looking quite as nice as the fit and finish on yours.

Really makes me wish I could get started on mine.

Thanks guys for all the kind words!

Back in the garage last night, I installed the new "window fuzzies" on the inside of the garnish mouldings with some small screws. They were originally stapled in place, and the old decrepit ones were removed before the mouldings were repainted.

Then the garnish molding were installed back on the car. Had the same issue with the "Max Merritt" trim screws, and I don't like how far the screw head sticko ut above the surface of the moulding. So I will likely replace them all with the original screws once I track them all down and get them repolished. Only the "Max" screws that hold the moulding in the bottom corners, and the secure the paint trim piece on the read division bar work exactly like the the OEM screws. Also waiting for the rubber I need that end caps the that division bar to arrive.

Only piece I need to work on for the doors now is the lock knobs. The OEM ones were pressed on over a barb shaft, and you basically have to destroy them to remove them. So I may just buy some universal hard rubber ones, in an appropriate color, and drill out the hole enough so they can be pressed down over the barbed shaft.

Kevin,
Everytime I get discouraged with my 51 Pat, I read 2 or three more pages of your blog. The wife and I are soooo impressed with what you have done. Fantastic work!

Kev - The Clipper is looking great, just great. How were you able to eat ice cream with such a big grin on your face? I'll bet you can hardly talk because you are smiling all the time.

Thanks guys....I was glad when she fired right up after a battery charge and some priming from the backup electric pump.

Still have some headliner to tackle and some other minor details. I swear when I was driving tonight, I left the high range clutch engage at about 30mph. Also I had her up to about 75mph on the highway today from a couple of miles. Pretty sure she will eventually need a ring job, or I still have a stuck ring. She was blowing some blue smoke on acceleration. Not at any other time.

Here is a pic my daughter took while we were on the way to dinner tonight "Calif Cruising"
