the history the recreated convertible is well documented and to my knowledge always been accurately represented. (and painted like the original once was!)

Where did they get that color? It's weird and looks like Coco Chanel threw up on it. The B&W period picture sure doesn't look like that.

And has anybody noticed the hood ornament on the 40 Town Car is the wrong year?

Cormorant Spring 1992 has an article on the Clipper cpnvt coupe by Darrin (there were a couple of convt sedans built by I think Derham). Originally for Errol Flynn, then color changed from green to peach. The color is not my cup of tea either, but what an attractive car. As the original was destroyed, I don't see any problem with this recreation (it was made from a sedan)

Jim Hollingsworth also had a 40 station wagon that he made using a Senior front clip - I don't remember if it was a 160 or 180 - and grafted it onto the station wagon, which only used the junior series bodies. It was a beautifully done car, but Jim always said that it was his creation of a car that Packard could have made.
