My 633 sedan did not have cowl mounted parking lights and I have a photo of it when it was new alongside 2 other 633 sedans none of which had cowl lights. I seem to recall that they were optional on the closed cars only. I will try to find the reference.

If you check the approved accessories catalog, page 20, cowl band and lamps are optional equipment for ALL 1929 cars. My understanding is that De Luxe Equipped Cars had this option installed. On page 2 and 3 are examples of open bodied cars with this option installed. Easyed

That confirms it, the cowl lamps were optional, I do not have that book, however the accessories price list which is on this web site, states that the price of the cowl band and lamps is $40.00 It would be great if you could scan it and donate a copy to this site .
