Nice find!
Although anyone who has ever restored a 55 Caribbean probably knows that the sheet metal scoops were separate pieces (that one year only), this single-page patent concisely documents it - with a cross-sectional view that shows the outer hood panel was cut open and flanged to accept them. That approach is a real blessing for anyone trying to restore a 55 Carib with the original hood damaged beyond repair. I've seen more than one that's completely rotten away at the front, while the scoops were still good.
