Hi to all, I am in need of a little guidance. I am very new to Packards, but not classic cars. I took a 38 4 door six in on trade that was missing rear fenders. I have had no luck locating any. I am very competent with paint and body repair. Do any of you know of a different brand that I could use on the rear, such as Ford,Chevy...etc? I am able to modify if needed, thanks for any and all advice on this...John

Have you advertised for a pair of rear fenders? I would place an ad in the For Sale and Wanted section and see what happens. I do not have a body parts book handy, but fenders from a '38 Eight will probably fit as well as ones for the '39 120 and 110 models. I hope this helps.

Fixem,
For what it's worth, the 40 fenders (all models) will fit the body of the 38-39 and all mount holes and body lines match.
The subtle difference is that the wheel opening for the 40's is very slightly smaller.

So, if you are still searching, you can add the 40's to your wish list.

I'll keep my eyes open for you. I have a very rough pair of 38-39s (poor mounting holes, rough lowers) I've held onto in case I was in a pinch, but am willing to sell.
Pat
