Does anyone have an idea of how many 57 Clippers still exist?
You just don't see many around, I know they only made @ 4000 total (Wagon/Sedans). Just wonder how many still survive.

I don't know how true this is, but I read somewhere that after 50 years, maybe 1% of original production cars are left.

I tend to think that's low, but others may want to weigh in.

There are just too many other factors involved in survivor percentages than to just base it on a simple "lifetime expectation" rule. For example, other than 1899 (100% survivor rate) and perhaps 1900, the highest survivor percentages for Packard are for 1933 and 1934, 2.14% and 2.64% respectively based on actual car count from directories of the various car clubs. And these numbers are probably reasonably accurate as, given the very small numbers of them originally produced, few 33/34 Packards are likely to still be lurking out there waiting "to be discovered". The lowest are 1951 and 1952 at 0.16% and 0.14% yet, with a much higher original production number, there are likely to be far more of these cars waiting to be "found again and recovered".

A very rough estimate of the # of survivors like your 57 Packard might best be approximated by adding the numbers of survivors from the two Packard clubs, deleted the duplicates, and maybe doubling that number.

I have one 1957 Clipper wagon in my garage. One of only 869 produced.
How many do we have here, just on the forum?
A good place to start counting?

You could check the Packard Owner Registry here and see how many are registered. This would be a start. Neat cars, I like them. One of the best front end styling ever done on a Packard.

Only nine 1957's listed here on the owners registry! I think there more 58s listed. Go figure?
Just checked, there are 12, 58s registered. Much lower production year.

Well, as for me, one is enough. Maybe for a younger person to tackle.
Mine has been a loooong restoration.
