Mike...... I look forward to that day. Maybe in the fall as our weather in southern Arizona is quickly changing to hot. Expecting 90 degrees today and I got to get some decent drives in before it is too hot drive during the daytime. Today. I'm off to 'the town too tough to die' in the 400. The pics from Good Guys look like you all had fun. Good looking family you've got there.

Making progress with the door panels, they are not original but i thought they came out pretty nice for under 100 dollars for all four doors and kick panels.

Hi Mike, those look fantastic! Especially for being done in 108 degree weather. I wish there was more to report going on with the '40, but not in the heat right now. We'll have to meet up out at Power Rd. one Saturday evening for cruise in.

Rough weekend, while addressing a cracked head I found my #4 cylinder cracked all the way across to the intake valve. I keep a very close eye on my temp and normally run around 160 to 180 degrees and 200 degrees when stopped at a light. This engine has about 6000 miles on the rebuild, the pistons are .060 over could that have something to do with the crack, any suggestions to the possible cause would be greatly appreciated, thanks Mike

The crack may have slipped by the inspection 6K miles ago. VERY easy to happen.

Is that a hardened steel seat on the intake that was installed at last overhaul????

Pictures are decieving, but for 6k miles (assuming a rebore 6K miles ago) that looks like a lot of ridge at the top of the cylinder.

I may have been missed it, but the previous valves were cracked so I had the machine shop dye penetrate the valve seat area before I reassembled it. I did not have hardened seats installed do you think it would be wise to do that on the next block?
