I plan to replace the 4 tires on my 1954 Cavalier.

I have selected the Coker 800R15 with 3 1/4 inch whitewall. This is a Radial made to look like a Bias ply.

At the same time I will replace Kingpins and check alignment.

The car has oversized old bias ply tires and it tends to wander a bit. They arn't wearing well and the oversized is difficult to remove from the rear even with the skirts off.

As I like to drive this car I want safer tires.

Any thoughts from the group?

my experience with radials, my steering was soft, i blame the bulge of the radial,

bias have a stiffer side wall.

cost wise i will use radials, i can't see paying the cost for the wide white wall..which i like. but the 1 inch wall looks sport e r,,, to me.

Jim, I think the tire you've selected will prove to be a good choice, not based on personal experience but on what I've heard. It will be interesting to hear your feedback, both initially and after a few thousand miles of experience.
