Folks,

There is a new chatroom, that I am still working on. It does not use Flash, so should be compatible with all browsers and mobile devices. It will take me a bit to add all the features of the old one back since this is pretty much "from scratch" effort. So currently it is a bit simpler in features compared to the old one which was a 3rd party application, but more people should be able to access it.

You'll see the "Recent Chats" on along the left side of the page now. That will only appear if you are Logged In. Annonymous users will not see it.

At some point soon, I will all the ability to post photos to chat, and also, see what users have the chat window open. But for now, it's just the basics.

A lot of people are now using tablets and such, which no longer reliable support Flash. So it was time to move away from it.

Give it a try.

Hope the new chat works the old one a few years back was used quite a bit in the late night for me.

It should work everywhere as it is written in the same code that drives the website here.

It will now show you what users are now actually in the chat room. If a user doesn't not post with 15 mins, then the user is removed from the room list.

And the room too?? Get enough people on there, one might not get to chime in ever 15 minutes.....

So, BigKev: when's the next meeting in the new chat room? Gotta stress it, ya know.

Using Safari on my iPad, the chat is too wide on the left side and covers up some of the normal posts when viewing a topic

The chat room should be a pop up. have you tried to flush your browser. Perhaps you have an older version cached.

Well I have OS 9.2, the latest version 9.2.1 is waiting for me to update. Everything looks ok on Chrome on my work computer, not that I would be checking this forum at work ever.

Chat Room should be pretty much fully functional now.

You can now attach JPG/JPEG pics (they auto-delete after a couple of days).

Also the "Users in Chat" should be pretty much spot on.

The "Recent Chats" on the left side of the main web page screen is static. It only updates when the main page refreshes as you navigate through the website. This is for performance reasons.

If you want to see the "Live Chat" then you have to have the actual Chat Room window open.

If you click the "Exit Chatroom" when it will remove you right away and the next time the page refreshed, that will be reflected.

Also, there is now a "Clear" button that can be used both clear the text you were typing in, or picture you have selected.
