I'm sure that Packard parts company in Indiana? Ohio? will buy it and part it out.

That would be a great fun project, but a person would easily have $75,000 into it, so it (probably) won't be restored.

I HAVE A QUESTION ON THE PAINT OF THE CAR THE SELLER PUT IN HIS AD. The blue and silver car.

There is a Custom Super Clipper on Milwaukee CL - a sedan - with this blue and silver paint and it is a 40,000 mile car with one repaint "as original".

I don't recall two tone as a Clipper option especially in the Customs. Can someone comment on the "correctness" of two toning and blue/silver?

Silver seems like a color more recognized as 1970's and later, yet here may be 2 examples of silver in the classic era?

If he only had $75,000 in it after he was done, it would be well worth it. Asking prices for finished Classic club sedans are quite a bit more than that.

Thanks. I had no idea!

Can anyone answer that two tone question? I am really curious. There has been a seller on Milwaukee CL selling 2 Clipper Custom Super sedans, one for $18,000 with the blue/silver two tone with the lower miles and a nice one for $14,000 that is single blue. I like the $14,000 one better. I just don't care for the two toning BUT the two tone car only has 41,000 miles while the $14,000 car has I think 75,000.

Maybe I would like the Silver/Blue better in person?

According to the 46 21st series data book there were 4 two tone combinations. I won't say for positive fact they did but would have expected them to carry over to 47 21st series. Unless you plan on redoing them anyway I would vote for getting the one with the best interior and woodgraining.

Thank you for confirming. Because I do not come to this site but perhaps once per month, I am not as capable of finding such information.

It appears that these 'silvers' are more of a grey.

By the way, both of the 21st series sedans have nice original interiors. Offered at $18,000 and $14,000, in my opinion they represent a fair value to get a nice touring Packard, all things considered and warnings applied.

Wish I had a spare $30,000 laying around I would go for BOTH!

Odd ... the "60s" Packard bears a strange resemblance to the 1951 Packard. But that was at least nine years before this car was built, so I must be wrong.

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...
