Howard,
The woodgrain reflects joints, sort of, at the bottom corners, but the joint is not reflected in the surfaces right next to window. Adjacent to the window, the grain morphs into a continuous wrap around. The grooved chrome is not painted. My handles look more clear than amber. Hope the pics help. Mark

Thanks Mark. The two photos where it shows the multidirectional grain detail in the corners are most helpful. Are the top corners similar or just wrap around?

Top corners wrap around without a "joint".

Thanks again. I was hoping the vinyl wrap would work but it looks like another order from GrainIt is in my future. Leftover ink has dried up and I think the big roller I used on the dash may be a bit too large for the molding.

Hope I'm not too late, those are some excellent photos from Mark. I am posting a few from my maroon Packard just to show how they are alike.
The other question I have is which way does the wrap on the pull handle go or does it matter just as long as they are the same. Also I tried to make a hose splitter, so the hose wouldn't be as thick but it worked some what, you have to push and pull at the same rate to get it to work right, see video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uh8n8HEvTjU I found I liked using the hose as is, just felt like there was more to hold on to. https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=11151&forum=2&post_id=116311#forumpost116311 Wes P.S. Don't talk about my window cranks I know those are not the correct ones. The correct are in the trunk. Oh and as far as the color, I'm guessing it yellowed over time. Wes, Thanks for the additional photos confirming the pattern. Decided to try my hand at making a custom sized roller so have ordered some very soft casting silicone to make one slightly narrower and smaller than the real ones to better fit the corners. It may not fly so at least the GrainIt wide rollers are still an option if it bombs.
When I first got the bug to redo the handpulls a few years ago, IMO, the aquarium tubing I found locally was too large. Don't remember the ID but 3/16 is what most of the websites sell. The wall thickness may have been too thick on that one. By the time it flattened out it was wider and much thicker than the original. I tried splitting it and did not like that look either. Without the back layer it curved a bit when flattened and edges didn't look right. Put the project aside until now. You used the 1/8 and I may too but for the first one am going to try some 3/32 ID clear Tygon tubing with a 1/32 wall from McMaster and see if I like that better. It has a 5/32 OD so am thinking the tubing should flatten to just under 3/16 wide which I think will be very close to the original. Only molding I have with the wrap still intact is the rear passenger and on that one it looks like the top leans slightly to the left or toward the front of the car. I don't know if they are all the same or maybe mirrored which would make the drivers side lean toward the right. That is another question that I didn't see a definitive answer to on the earlier thread. I think the mirror would look better and will probably do that..

Am curious what others have done to hold new felt weatherstrips on the garnish moldings. The originals were wire stapled but not having the machine and the folded over legs being behind a section of molding and hard to get to that is not a very good option. Am thinking some small flathead screws buried in the felt might work but am open to suggestions.

To retain the felts, get some small TIG stainless welding wire, locate the holes, push it through and bend it over. It bends easier than you think, buries well into the fuzz, won't rust from rain or washing. Make your stainless "staples" a tad longer so they'll be easy to handle, nip the ends with a pair of dykes before bending. Good luck...
