BDC: You are so correct about being car stupid. It also tells you how much the son respected his father's memory by taking it out into a field and literally abandoning it. I imagine that with a little more care, such as storing it in a garage and covering it, starting it regularly and driving it, and just doing routine maintenance on it, the seller could likely receive three times are much money as he is asking for it.

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

Never will understand the folks who want to sell a car but are unwilling to invest 30 minutes in minimally washing the dirt off and taking a couple of decent photographs.

Strange ... from the one photo, the interior looks quite good even if the body was allowed to go to seed. The '53 Patrician is a very nice car and a good driver. This one might not be as far gone as we think and it could be a real steal for a buyer who can really negotiate. Chances are the guy who is selling it is pretty clueless about old cars and might let it go for a song. In fact, the main reason it won't start is probably a dead battery!

Hi

That gray '53 Patrician with factory air conditioning first appeared on CL back in May 2015, listed as non-running then for three years prior so now its been most of five years. I saved the photos then which show the car is still parked in the same place on the grass. The contact person was different from now but no asking price then.

Hope someone will pursue and purchase this desirable Patrician before it is allowed to deteriorate any worse. If you've wanted a factory air conditioned straight eight Packard, this is your chance. It was owned by a PAC member, indicated by the vent window sticker.

Steve

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
