I hope I can avoid cutting it in half. I?ll ask some specialists round here, wether they can clean it chemical. The main problem might be the small outlet-tube, wich is full of dirt so that the engine was allways running only a few seconds after the electrical pump did preload the carb. (I?m also planing to change the complete tube from rear to engine)

Is the small tube welded inside the tank? or can it be removed while soldering out the thread where the outside tube is connected?

I believe the inside pickup tube is solder to the bottom of the tank. Looking at Ross blogg and mine:

I can see where the pickup tube is solder to the bottom.

I'm still working on mine, I just got a wire welder and I'm trying to teach myself to weld thin metal. Back on the farm many, many years ago I learn to stick weld, but that is a whole different can of worms. So wish me luck.

It might be not the best way welding the complete way round. I suggest overlap the two pieces, welding a few spots for stability and closing the rest with soldering, using the same tin that you use for perfect body repairs

That's an idea, I was thinking about adding a strip on the inside for backing.

Well removed it cleaned it out and reinstalled. Checked for leaks, no leaks. Now moving on back to my Fuel Sender Mod.
