I believe the inside pickup tube is solder to the bottom of the tank. Looking at Ross blogg and mine:
packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=19158&forum=10 . I can see where the pickup tube is solder to the bottom. I'm still working on mine, I just got a wire welder and I'm trying to teach myself to weld thin metal. Back on the farm many, many years ago I learn to stick weld, but that is a whole different can of worms. So wish me luck. Wes

always the best and lucky whishes!
It might be not the best way welding the complete way round. I suggest overlap the two pieces, welding a few spots for stability and closing the rest with soldering, using the same tin that you use for perfect body repairs

Well removed it cleaned it out and reinstalled. Checked for leaks, no leaks. Now moving on back to my Fuel Sender Mod.
