Now on to the 48 models since it's October 1, 1947. And I like the next to the last two articles. Muffler for life and Aluminum body for Chevrolet, maybe that's why they know so much about how much damage you can cause in the new Ford Aluminum bodies. If you've seen the Chevrolet truck commercial.

Revivals of defunct makes are nothing new now, but Marshall Merkes may have been one of the first to announce such an effort for Duesenberg. It went nowhere.

The Plexi-Top maker must not have noticed the intense greenhouse effect created on sunny days. Imagine driving your Ford or Mercury convertible with the Plexi-Top in place to work on a cloudy morning only to return in the afternoon under hot, sunny weather for the drive home.

Grumman box vans were everywhere back then, the aluminum bodies were riveted flat sheets so damage wasn't much of a problem to repair.

Packard proudly introduced its new Free-Flow-Styled look.

Well for now I've switch my reading to Guss and the Model Garage, found a little something to share, although it's not Packard related, I can still see Packard in it. They talk about warp around bumpers. Makes me think of the Bumpers on the 22 series.

I guess whatever works but it looks like the grapefruit would be cooling the vacuum side in that illustration. Doubt it would do much for vapor lock.

Good catch Howard.

Why is the heat shield missing? - backyard mechanics threw them away. Cold water on the pump and line worked (if you could find them - (tough to do in the desert)
