The town car also has 745 front fenders. The answer as to why this car doesn't have all the 745 features may be in that it is a full custom.

Aha. Yes, the town car must be a 745C chassis with the longer custom body and shorter hood. I stand corrected on that one. So, did Packard make two different length sweeping front fenders for the 745s? A comparison of the town car and this convertible sedan show the fenders abutting the running board at the same place vis-a-vis the body, yet the hood is five inches longer on the latter.

Hi

The town car is a 745C chassis, the roadster is a question. Where are those lovely, sweeping 745 front fenders? Those fitted appear to be the standard 726-733-740 units. Wonder how they accommodated the side mounts? At these prices, the correct details become critical.

The telltale for a 745 is the front door edge and the runningboard/fender end junction align when seen in profile. If we could see the town car details better, I believe we'd see the front door edge is five inches forward as its a 745C. Requesting better profile photo would verify.

.....epigram time.....
Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
