Looks like you're missing the heat insulator block, it's about 3/8" thick. Studs are probably not the originals.

Owen I thought i was missing that I will have to look around and try and find it. Is it made of the exhaust material? , and yes the stud is 1 " to short or so.

Try the usual Packard vendors. Alternatively, a stack of gaskets would serve the purpose. The originals were made of some sort of non-metallic resin/polymeric material. I'm expecting that someone will come along with a photo and/or more information.

If I remember correctly it is the same size as a 6 cyl. chevy. I used one on my 42 110. Look on ebay for a phenolic block.

racing buddy had the material and he fabricated a block for me it wound up being 5/8 thick. runs much better and starts easier after turning off.
