All, hoping somebody knows the answer....I am reassembling front and rear bumpers after being rechromed. Two of the four bumperettes have a threaded dowel attached at the top inside. Also, the cross-piece between the bumperettes, one of them as four nubs on the top and towards the body. Does anyone know if the bumperettes with the threaded down go front or rear and the same with he cross piece. They all seem to be interchangeable.

If you go to the 1948-1954 Parts List (available on this site) there are good illustrations of the 1953 Clipper front and rear bumpers.

And of course the actual parts listing will tell you what is interchangeable and what isn't.

The guards and bridge with the studs are used to hold up the silver painted pan that extends under the middle grill bar.
