Packard "catwalk cars"

I posted the photo I'm sharing here in a Facebook group I belong to about railroad history.

Another member commented that the reason the Packard automobile appears in this photo is that the catwalk cars in the NYC Lincoln and/or Holland Tunnels in the early 1950's were MADE by Packard!

I know a fair amount of Packard history, but this is news to me (if true). I've searched Google and not found much of anything.

Does anyone out here in Packardland have any information about this? Thanks!

There's another thread here somewhere with that exact photo and many others but I'm traveling and can't seem to locate it.

Uncharted waters so far.

Dan (MIDan), -> this is, what we have at the moment. Follow the link and scroll down to find some few general comments. At the next page are further links. One of them contains the assertion that the catwalk cars were made by Packard. Jump to this page to read the statement, that just one of the several catwalk cars (the one, which is shown in your pic) came from Packard. But again, uncharted waters. It could well be that the Hoboken Historical Museum, 1301 Hudson St, Hoboken, NJ 07030 stores more information.
