Here are a couple of snapshots found on the ThoseOldCars Tumblr site.

First, a '53 Chevy family delivering their son to college parked next to a '52 200.

Second, a neighbor sunbathing, a '53 Cavalier or Patrician across the street, sometime during or after 1956 as evident from the '56 Bel Air sport sedan.

Interesting body style, I'd call it a Cloverleaf. Note chains on rear tires but no snow in sight. Note the quite standard for the era difference in the front and rear wheels; with just brakes on the rear axle, those wheels needed to be sturdier to stand up to the starting and stopping forces which the front wheels didn't experience.

Steve, that was a risky picture for 1956 of a woman in that attire. Were you that interested in the cars behind her or was that just an excuse?

@O_D, why were those high coupes called clover leaves? What year/series is that?

BDC, perhaps "risque" is the word you were thinking of? How would you say it in Dutch?

I don't know the definition of a cloverleaf as a body style. Ive seen it applied to both open and closed coupes, not always of phone booth proportions like this one, always for 4 passengers under the roof. They always seem to have an unusual seating pattern in that the entry to the rear seats was an aisle between the front seats. How much of this is relevant, I don't know but look forward to hearing more.

After consideration, I decided the swimsuit style was modest enough to not be considered too risqu? for our civil forum. Maybe that's her '53 Packard parked across the street. She reminds me of Ava Gardner.

The cloverleaf seating configuration wherein there is a single seat centered behind the front bucket-style seats and accessed by an aisle between same seems so odd now. There are usually broad surfaces on each side of little use. Though, perhaps in this coupe, there were spaces for hat boxes.

Good Morning all...Most interesting photograph of the young lady snoozing on the lawn lounge! She has no idea that she is being photographed and that we will be remarking about her over one half a century later! Just delightful! Ernie in Arizona

Here's one that was posted in an AACA thread. Its a late Twin Six 3-35 seven passenger touring. The wheels were identified as the Rudge type 100, made by Rudge-Whitworth in Buffalo, NY. The other features that were coming into vogue in the early 1920's were the smooth, crowned fenders, polished nickel radiator shell and drum headlights on forked stanchions. Hard to believe at six-seven years on the market, the Twin Six was becoming viewed as out-of-date.
