My only comment is the "Back On 4 Wheels" pic has the car half covered, like one of those new-car "spy shots" in the magazines. Just what's it look like under there that's such a big secret? Supercharger?

I wear them to prevent my wife from killing me for messing up the bathroom sink with grease and grime. If she isnt happy, then no one is happy.

I have regular mechanics gloves for the knuckle busting tasks, but the are not tactle enough for the delicate work. Plus the blue gloves are like $8 for a box of a 100 at Harbor.

Hey I like wearing the gloves, makes clean up so much easier. However, the ones I bought at Home Depot are all bunched up and hard to get on the hands. Terrible.

Well a couple updates this evening. I managed to get the rebuilt waterpump (exchange) from Kanter bolted up to the block. I also media blasted the PS Steering crank pulley, and got that into primer.

I just need to paint the PS pulley and the water-pump the same color as the engine color. I also need to remove the crank pulley bolt to attach the PS Steering Pulley add on. I ran a tap through the holes in the dampner to clear them up as the PS Pulley bolts to those in addition to the crank bolt.

12v Alt. Standard GM 10SI alternator (either a 68amp or 73amp can't remember), cheap and available everywhere. If you look back through my earlier project pages then you will set the bottom bracket that I fabbed for it. The top bracket is the standard Packard Generator bracket, with a spacer where it bolts to the waterpump.

One interesting thing I noticed when I was media blasting the PS Pulley, is that it originally came off of a 359 motor as it was painted originally painted bronze, but at some point repainted black.

I'm not familiar with the yearly sequence or concurrency of streight 8 production but it may b e likely that it was some production surplus used on your engine.
example: My very original 56 352 v8 is green but there is ivory under the green. So my engine was slated for 55 Sr. then repainted for Jr. assembly.

There was no ivory on the heads tho.
