...Okay, does anyone know why I can't add any more links??? I've tried to add to this post, create a new reply, etc and every time it sends me to a blank page. It took me three tries to get the above links on this post. Using Chrome, fully updated. Never seen anything like this before, and I'm on a lot of forums. Is there a limit to pictures/link per post??

Kevin (kevinpackard), your words contain a mixture of real events and hypotheses. I'm almost convinced that the error was within the last links, you've tried to post.

These Packards are just some of the surplus from the hundreds of old car Harold LeMay amassed when his fortune from the refuse-hauling business enabled him indulge in the hobby. The core of the choices are in that America's Car Museum in Seattle-Tacoma.

I talked to the people running the auction yesterday. Told me they still want $2500 deposit for a bid number. mentioned the premium percentage was told its only 10% so something doesn't add up. I'm going to pass on bidding. Lemay always has 2 auctions a year. I'll wait till after this one and see what is left.

I'm not familiar with how auctions generally work. So is this $2,500 deposit refundable, and if a car is bought, does it go towards the price of the car? I would assume so, but would like some clarification.

Guscha - This isn't the only post I've had this happened on. It seems that any time I try to post more than three pictures or links the post doesn't go through. It's not always consistent, but it's frustrating when it happens.

That's good information. Somehow I had forgotten about America's Car Museum. I still haven't seen it, so I'll need to make it a point to go and visit. It's only a couple hours from me.

Some of the cars went over there but most of the collection stayed with the family at Marymount. If anyone is in the area the last weekend of august they have a car show and you can tour Harold's house, there is a whole room dedicated to just Packards. It's pretty impressive. The family has a bigger variety of cars from brass era to some more modern stuff.

The results of the LeMay auction are as follows:

1941 120: $950
1942 Clipper: $1,000
1951 200: $1,600
1949 Eight: $900
1950 Eight: $2,000
1955 Four Hundred: $3,200

Looks like some crazy good deals for whoever picked these up. Cheap start to a project!
