Several people on this thread, myself included, would want a 1938-39-40 super 8 and 120, 21 gal tank. The ‘41 has an indentation for something and so holds 20 gal. But maybe similar enough.
If Barry Lowe is still on Packardinfo you might PM him. He just needs a blueprint to make them. Blueprints are available from the Packard Museum or Proving Grounds and from the Studebaker Museum. packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb ... opic.php?post_id=208610&keywords=41+gas packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb ... c_id=18256&order=ASC&status=&mode=0

All materials used should be compatible with current ethanol-laden gas.

If it goes there, would like a tank for a 1940 180 limo.

I would be interested in a tank for my 1940 Super 8 160 - 1377 Convertible Sedan.

The indent on the 41-2 is for the spare tire well which seems standard fare for floors even on sidemount cars. For cars delivered new with sidemounts there's a panel spot welded in the trunk floor to cover the well and give a flat floor, but the well is still below. If that's the only difference it's not a big deal. And yes, modern materials, but water was a bigger danger to tanks of yore than ethanol. Eth absorbs water. Keep talking, I'm serious about this.

My 1808, what I believe is original tank, does not have the indentation for the trunk spare, but if you make them with with or without indentation will not make a big difference to me. Thanks

Resurrecting this thread in case members here still need a gas tank for a '37-38-39-40 Packard 8 cyl.
moparpro.com makes an excellent tank now. Also for '48-'49-'50 Packards It's spendy, but it's perfect.

I ended my pursuit of the unicorn Packard tank. But, 61 Olds station wagon is the exact outside dimensions but 3/8" taller. I have to modify the filler neck and I indented the area needed for spare well clearance. Not easy but I now have a new galvanized tank under the car. Pics when it's all done...
