Thanks Gusha, that's an interesting photo and one I've not seen before. The Eight (1101) touring is one of the less common body styles, estimated that only 40 built. The photo shows some interesting features and raises some questions beyond the obvious.

The pinstripe appears to be non-stock and not particularly attractive IMO, especially on the front fenders - the stock stripe would been a pair of very narrow, closely spaced stripes. What's that below the running board - an antenna or perhaps a folding step plate? And is there something affixed to the front tires?

Dave (O_D), I rather believe that its high-resolution provides more and detailed information. The image itself is -> part of our website for many years. Please find attached high-res image sections of a photograph, taken from the same car (well, I believe that this is the same car).

The 1934 Packard three-quarter side view. Inscribed on photo back; Packard 1101 eight, eleventh series, 8-cylinder, 120-horsepower, 136-inch wheelbase, 7-person touring car (body type #710), Packards of Emperor Kang Teh of Manchukuo painted specially in imperial crimson, each car bearing Emperor's crest on doors & radiator cap emblems, photographed before gates of Imperial Detached Palace at Akasaka, Tokyo (in 1922-23 this was the palace of the Prince Regent of Japan).

Item # EB01d790

The image description was intentionally shortened to focus on the image section and will be continued soon.

Interesting how they have chains on the rear wheels like driving in snow.

Nobody less than His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon is showing us one of his cars, a 1942 Packard One Eighty purchased during the war and in active service well into the 2000s.

I'm Stuart Blond, editor of The Packard Cormorant magazine. Craig Handley is the editor of the Cormorant News Bulletin.

Ivar wrote the article on the 1942, which was translated by John Hempel. It will appear in the 3rd Quarter 2022 issue, around September.

In view of the large quantity of chrome, don't miss the white Clipper convertible left hand side.

I think it's 22-23 series, not Clipper.
