Prewar Henney Model Designation

I’ve always heard the term 120A (or 160A) in reference to the Henney models which is in addition to (for example) 1701A, 1801A etc. However, I understand that this is incorrect. Can someone please elaborate?

The "A" denotes the commercial version of the chassis, not necessarily unique for just a Henney.

Thank you, Dave, and that's what I had always thought too. However, I had heard recently that the A had nothing to do with the commercial chassis, such as 120A, 120B etc. and that it was just another model designation so that's why the confusion.

Yes, that's what I was asking about. It was recently published in a Henney publication that the 120A was the commercial chassis but the term did not always apply so I am trying to learn where it did not.
