The "A" denotes the commercial version of the chassis, not necessarily unique for just a Henney.

Thank you, Dave, and that's what I had always thought too. However, I had heard recently that the A had nothing to do with the commercial chassis, such as 120A, 120B etc. and that it was just another model designation so that's why the confusion.

Don, the "A" suffix applied to the model name 120 (rather than the chassis number) is an entirely different matter. The first 120 was the 1935 model year and identified as the 120A, for 1936 it was the 120B, and for 1937 the 120C.

Yes, that's what I was asking about. It was recently published in a Henney publication that the 120A was the commercial chassis but the term did not always apply so I am trying to learn where it did not.
