Identification of 1916-23 Twin Six engine

I have what I believe to be a 1916-23 Twin Six engine and I was hoping someone here would be able to tell me how to identify it. I checked the Engine Serial Number Reference document in the FAQs section, but it doesn't show serial number stamping locations for the early Twin Six engines.

The engine's sitting on a pallet in the corner of my garage, upside-down, completely wrapped in plastic, and utterly immovable, so I'm hoping the stamping I need is accessible. (Fingers crossed!)

I don't know if these are helpful in any way, but here's an image of the engine before it was wrapped up, along with a photo I just took of some indecipherable stamping on the bellhousing. The upper stamp looks like it could be a date ending in "19," perhaps dating the engine casting to 1919?

Any help at all is much appreciated. Thanks!

I have heard that the first series Twin Sixes did not have detachable cylinder heads.

That is correct, nondetachable heads on the 1st Series Twin Six.

Thank you both for your input.

I was able to locate the engine number. In case someone comes looking for the same information one day, the number is located on the left side toward the front of the engine and is clearly visible from the top (when the engine is right-side-up ).

What series/year were you able to determine from the engine number?

The number identifies it as a 1918 pre-series (3-25/3-35). Unfortunately, no one I've spoken with has any info on the actual car.
