So it was in 70-80f nearly all the time we were in New Zealand. Came home to 60-70f here in Chicagoland. Which is unusually warm for Feb. Yesterday is was 75f. Then we had tornados last night. These were taken within five miles of our house at 7pm last night.

News isnt reporting any major damage, mostly trees.

This morning, it's 22f but feels like 10f with the windchill.

Really impressive images, especially for someone who only knows tornadoes from apocalyptic films. Do you have shelter in the basement?

It's just the basement itself. This gives pretty good protection unless the entire house collapses into the basement, which is fairly rare.

We had similar weather here 59 when I got up and 21 when at 11PM As my grandfather use to say normal winter if you don't like wait a day or two. Being optimistic moved snow blower to back of garage and mower near door in prep for spring . Soon time to get cars ready for cruise season he said wishing and hoping
