The 352 engine out of my Clipper is for sale. It needs some TLC/parts to run again or could be used for parts. The valves and cylinders are NOT overbored, so some oversize pistons would make the block work good as new. I have not checked any of the bearings or internals.

The engine spins over freely and easily when the heads are OFF. There are a couple stuck valves so it won’t crank over when back together. No bent pushrods.

Not in a hurry to sell. Make an offer.

Ultramatic transmission and errata can be included. Just message me with what you are interested in.

I got everything buttoned back up, all torqued to spec and fogging oil in the cylinders to keep it "fresh" for the next guy.

Obviously the engine is still in the car, but we will be removing it soon.

There is the remotest of chances yours might have had the OEM cast crankshaft replaced with a service part forged steel crankshaft. In sixty years of shredding Packard V8s, I've found two forged steel units in service.

As to why a forged steel unit is desirable, back seventy years ago, when some were using the Packard V8 in rail job dragsters, the forged steel crankshaft was welded and reground to make a 3.75" to 4" stroker crankshaft.

Obviously, that's not a common build today and finding a shop still willing to undertake a welded stroker crankshaft, well, good luck with that. Then, there's the necessary custom forged pistons, roller camshaft and a supercharger.

Jack I suppose it's worth asking how to tell the difference between the two?

I assume the cast has that "sand cast" look to it and the forged not?

Easypeasy. The cast cranks have hollow rod journals and the forged cranks have solid rod journals.

The steel crank can be built up to std... the other cranks. You can only grind them.

I have a steel crank. I had built up to std. And.
Chrome harden ..
