The only sending unit I have left is a jr. If interested please let me know what a fair price would be.

That looks like the one for my '49 2262. I sent you a direct message about it.

Attached is the one I'm looking to replace. What are the measurements on yours?

VERY helpful Howard! Thanks!

Do I read this correctly - is it possible to use the sending unit for the 17 gallon in the 20 gallon tanks on my 2262 as long as I've been the arm correctly?

Since they did go to the expense of stocking two senders there could be an internal difference in the movement range. Another possibility is the ears they caution to not bend when adjusting the float limits the range of the 17 gallon sender so it can only accommodate the height of the smaller tank.

We know the amount of float drop on both senders but it would also be interesting to compare the length of the arm from the bend to the float on the two senders (B in the sender photo) and how the Ford unit from Carpenter compares. A longer arm on the 20 gallon sender could keep the swing on the deeper tank in the same range of the smaller senders limit tabs.

Thanks again, Howard. Based upon the information you provided, and after measuring my tank and calculating it to be a 20 gallon tank, I now know which sending unit I'm looking for.
