hood molding

Now I have to change the hood molding and the brackets for the 2nd time in 8 years. If everyone who opens the hood isn't careful, the hood molding will be bent. It no longer holds on the brackets. And this time I also have paint damage. I would now order hood molding and brackets again.

Or is there perhaps a more stable solution? Even with the Model A I think it's a better solution

It is not the brackets or the moulding. It is the hinge itself that is worn - totally common. I see that you have had the hood split already at the welds...it a REALLY fussy job to try to repair the hinge portion. On my last two restorations, I had a new hinge installed (from a streetrod supply catalogue), including revised front and rear brackets. Fantastic result, including the ability to have both sides raised at the same time - betcha never seen that before.

Paid a fortune to have this done, and only a small fortune the second time....sorry have sold the cars, so I don't have pictures of this detail, but boy was it nice to re=engineer that blasted hinge....
