Is there any adjustment to the oiler other than the length of the choke rod?
Mine doesn't seem to be closing completely, I think , Since doing a lot of other things
which took several years of the car not being run it now smokes too much which it didn't
before. No engine work was done , other than that the car runs fine.
Appreciate any ones thoughts on the matter.

Running the car with fresh oil and gas may eliminate the smoke after a hundred miles or so, assuming there is no issue other than having sat for an extended period. If you have a fuel pump with a vacuum
booster, the diaphragm in the booster may be leaking, which will cause oil burning. I'm not familiar with the pre-oiler.

It may have worn/sticky rings. When it sits some oil leaks into the cylinders and burns off when started. Then it goes away.

My '54 would crop dust the neighbor when first started. A long distance drive at freeway speeds with 2 qts of Lucas oil stabilizer freed up those sticky rings and the problem went away.

But I still have minor blowby.
