Nice. Nothing wrong with making them from stock.

At some point I will get some made if I can see who Fitch was ordering from. Or just do it myself.

You got to be younger than me.

At some point. I'll have to kick back

Things I made for ultra. And my other stuff

I'll ship to you.

On the ultra. Need to upgrade to aluminum bronze. For bushings and atleast put the tailshft on needle bearings.

The bearing at end of the tailshaft driveshaft side. Sealed bearing

No leaks with that. And and still add the other seal.

Good idea to use a sealed bearing. For the shaft seals I like to use wiper seals. Kanter gives you plain ones. Aux wiper types are like $2 more apiece...

I'm 25, by the way. Yeah, there are multiple Ultramatic shops leaving the game. Apparently Aldrich is looking to retire, etc. He is only I think 48 so I'm not sure why he's going. Most of the rest are really at retirement age, and some like Fitch and that guy in Missouri have been done for some years now. So only a matter of time and not that long. Only 5 years from now the whole landscape will be quite different, and not just Ultras.

This is part of the reason I'm trying to learn as much as I can right now. If possible I would like to do most everything myself, and potentially help other people get their Packards back on the road. Problem is I started with no knowledge of how any of these old cars worked, so I'm starting from ground zero. Lots to learn.

Spud. I have years on you. Just turn 69.

Kevin. Yes. Boy scouts. Be prepared.. otherwise your stuck.

I was lucky to have my dad's lathe and mill.. I need it I make it

Gasket replaced. Pan was out of wack..

Felpro used to make a contact cement. Sold it to locktite
They tossed it.

So I used goop. For Gasket and silicone for the fill pipe. Nut.

Best gasket was saturated with trans oil.

Pan is only hand tight. Letting things cure over night. And with the thicker Gasket. Not going to tighten much more.. checking in morning to see if things set.

Probably did. Just going to take up any slack.

Had some trick shift so added that. Can't remember how many qts with pan off. Think atleast 4 qts. I have 3 .type F. For tomorrow.
