Yes, the Ford heater motor works for my ‘40 Dual Stream under the seat heater. The shaft was longer than needed. I cut it with a Dremel tool to the same length as the original. I had a lot of difficulty removing the fan from the old motor. I had to open the motor so I could grip the lower part of the shaft and grip the fan, and twisted clockwise and counter clockwise until it came loose. It fit snugly on the cut shaft 1/4”. I had difficulty getting the motor in the cup with the fan attached because the front bench adjustment bar runs across the top of the heater pan, but angled and wiggled until it dropped in and through the holes in the bottom of the cup. But the motor needed to be shimmed at the bottom to be perfectly straight. I had to remove the motor (ugh) and add tape in the bottom on one side. Once balanced, I tightened the mounting nuts under the car.
Here is a photo left to right) of my heater/ defroster motor, the new 6v motor, and the old under the seat motor.

I tried the Ford mtr yesterday for fit. Surprised the 2 studs fit in the existing holes in the bottom of the heater. I probably will have to cut the shaft and studs on the drive end side of the motor. Electrically everything worked?
thk for the update. David
