Can anyone recommend a smoke generator? External air compressor or internal fan forced? After working on the valves/guides/seats I'm getting 75% loss with leakdown gauge.

Valve tappet clearance OK? Rings?

Loss past rings is normal, to an extent.

Amazon has some smoke generators starting at less than $100 and then go way up in price but there are some YouTube videos on making very inexpensive testers that sounds more like what you are looking for. When I play that video, on the right of the video section the page has videos from several other people who have posted on how they made different ones.

I checked the clearances twice. I had an average of about 125 before I started except for one that would intermittently read 60.
