In the parts list there are two types of Ultramatic gaskets: normal and Hycar.
Example: 3.508 ULTRAMATIC - GASKET SET-ULTRAMATIC TRANS 3.509 ULTRAMATIC - GASKET SET-ULTRAMATIC TRANS HYCAR What's the point of two different types of gaskets?

True, but any thoughts on why that would even be necessary to offer two types?

Speculation, but not developing leaks after a while due to gasket deterioration? The nitrile gasket is a higher part number, so running change?

Being different group numbers means they were different parts rather than a variation of the same part.
