Hello everyone,

I went to check out this 51 200 today. It has been parked since 1967. The interior is very original except missing carpet, but the body has the trim off and has an ugly and poorly done paint job. The entire mechanicals need overhauled. It's 30k miles but that matters little except regarding interior condition. Kinda rusty but no rot.

It includes a crate engine from the 70's (yes seriously) that has never been ran. Also NOS fenders and radiator. And a bunch of random stuff like 3 heads, a couple Ultramatics, 2 additional junky straight 8's, and the various equipment for the car.

I'd be curious what value everyone here gives this package. Note that I'm not planning on buying it though it would be a quite interesting project. A friend and I just went to kick some tires mostly.

Gotta think the crate engine is worth a few bucks. You could probably get the whole collection for the valve of the engine.

Hard to say exactly what it's worth. But with all those parts and spare engines, I'd probably feel comfortable paying 4-6k for the lot. Especially with that crate engine. Several bumpers, grilles, and probably a ton of other parts laying around. Out of all the engines I'm sure at least two could be restored and brought back to life.

The car is going to need a ton of work, but it's not a lost cause. The seats look like they have some sort of seat covers on them. Not a pattern I've seen before, and the colors don't match the rest of the interior. I'm curious to see how the originals look underneath.

Yes it has seat covers since new. The 51 200 seats are extremely plain.

Yeah you could get one or two engines going but they would have to be completely rebuilt including the nos one.
