Thanks for the update. I have a like-new starter bezel I can sell you. $250 AUD plus shipping.

It should not be possible for the engine vacuum pump to pull in brake fluid. Someone ran the lines wrong. Please show your mechanic this post, where I thoroughly explain the correct routing of the vacuum lines. The only difference is that your windshield washer jar is on the opposite side of the car.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb ... 8299&post_id=272250#forumpost272250

Probably there is someone in AU that specializes in Treadle Vac refurbs. But in the States we often use Tiger Treadle Vac.

I have a video on YouTube on how to refurbish a front power antenna:youtu.be/AaB2f67MpXg?si=prFk0-pVutwuGZ4x

By the way, I spoke with Mr. Pushbutton who rebuilt your transmission actuator many years ago. If it gives you problems, he is willing to work with you on that. But first post here, as it could be a simple fix.

Thanks for the info.

Im not sure how it was getting into the engine. what I do know was that I had a brake fluid leak somewhere, but no actual leak (that I could find) my mechanic found the leak and got the vacuum pump refurbed.

I had ordered a starter bezel, but I need the plate/ring slot that goes behind the dash that holds the bezel name plate onto the ignition barrel. My mechanic is fixing that.

I do need to fix the washer pump on the jar, I have two but both look to be burnt out. I did see somewhere where I could get a refurb kit for the solenoid and pump, but can not remember exactly where I seen that. Im sure my auto sparky will be able to help and I will go to my local club to see if there is anything like that in their spares dept.

I would love to get Mr.Pushbuttons email so that I could find out more about the actuator. It hasn't played up for a bit, but mind you I havent' driven her for a bit either. lol.

Click on Inbox at the upper left menu. From there you can. Find him on the list and send a PM. You can also do a Google search and find him that way. Best not to post email addresses here directly.
