The manifold gaskets sets i see from some of the vendors include a "hot box" gasket.

It's been discussed on here before in the past.

A Packard engine typically has a relatively moderate valve overlap, usually ranging between 10° to 20° of crankshaft rotation depending on the specific engine model and design, prioritizing smooth power delivery and good fuel efficiency over extreme performance characteristics that might require higher overlap.
Key points about Packard engine valve overlap:
Moderate overlap:
Packard engines were designed for a balance between performance and drivability, leading to a less aggressive valve overlap compared to high-performance racing engines.
Scavenging effect:
While not as pronounced as in highly tuned engines, the overlap still helps to remove exhaust gases from the cylinder, improving intake efficiency
