When I bought my 55 Pat in Jan 1999, I drove it from Portland, OR to las Vegas, NV, a trip of 1,100 miles. The old guy I bought it from was only the owner for a couple of months as he had bought it on spec from the long-time owner.

Do you sill own that car? My unrestored 1955 Patrician painted Topaz and White Jade came from Oregon. A young man up there owned it for a while then it went through a chain of owners after him. It eventually ended up in Henderson, Nevada, where I bought it in 2022 with 65,000 miles.

I had a headlight problem on it. If I left the high beams on for more than a few minutes they would go out completely for a minute or two then come back on. I've had this happen on other cars, so I knew how to fix it. It's caused by dirty, loose, or corroded connections at the headlight switch that create heat and trip the circuit breaker. I pulled the headlight switch, cleaned up everything, and it's been right as rain ever since.
