I think he was saying talk to Tom to hear about his experiences doing the race. At least that's how I read it.
Anyways, I spent some time last night looking into the Great Race and it looks like a great time. It's way more intense than I initially thought, but in a good sort of way. I would love to do it one year. Not the right time of life for me though. I'm hoping you can make it work this year and share your experiences with us.

Right. consider my idea of borrowing a Packard for this year dropped. Go with the 58 Merc. Reference to Tom was just that - experience doing the GR in a 39 Coupe.

Oh, o-k. Seemed like it could go either way. I participated in the Great Race last year which is why I have the Ace sticker as my icon. We had a 13 second day, which was the lowest rookie single day score of the event. The 40 Club Coupe is still being worked on. While it is highly unlikely the 40 will be ready, I will keep working on it 'til the end. 58 Merc.....it might be.
Kevin, Due to the cost to participate, The Great Race was something I wanted to try once. It really was a lot of fun and I signed up for the next year (2025). Overall, it took about 2 weeks total getting there, participating and getting home. If you do decide to do the Great Race, sign up about 2 years ahead of time. I've been putting together a video of my GR experience. It is turning out to be really long and not yet done. thanks, Mark
